It’s quarter 4 ladies! The time to start our blog goals for 2021 is now. If you have plans on being serious about your blog, you absolutely want to make some investments that will make your blog pop!
Let’s be real here, the word investment can be intimidating. Especially when it’s for something that’s new, or maybe it’s not new, maybe you’ve had a blog for years, but you’ve recently decided you want to up your game and use it for business purposes too.
If you can relate to either one of those situations, then you, my friend, are in the right place!
Before I tell you my favorite investments I have made for my blog, I want to point something out!
- Do your research! Even though I am recommending services to you, I use and LOVE, that doesn’t mean they are right for you! Although when it comes to blogging, most investments don’t cost thousands of dollars, they still do cost money, so you want to make sure it’s a good fit for you and your blog/business.
- Decide what your purpose is for blogging, are you blogging for a hobby perhaps just for fun? If you are, that’s great! I congratulate you on doing something for yourself, I would just decide what investments are worth the money if you aren’t planning on making money. Make sense?
Blog Investments that were ABSOLUTELY worth the money:
Siteground: Website Hosting Services –
You have probably heard this a million times by now, but purchasing hosting services for your blog is by far the most important thing you can do! If you have any plans on using affiliate links, custom domains, looking like you mean business basically, then you need to purchase hosting!
The good news is there are hundreds of hosting services out there, the hard part is which one to choose. I have used three different hosting companies, Dreamhost, Bluehost, and Siteground! My best experience hands down have been with Siteground, they offer excellent and fair hosting prices and the best customer service.
Every time I have needed assistance, they are available very quickly via chat, and they are always willing to fix whatever I need help with for me! That is a HUGE help for someone like me!
I have also learned through the grapevine that lyricalhost.com is also amazing!
Purchasing a Domain–
One might say this investment is the most important! In order to monetize your blog in other words (make money using affiliate links), you need to have your own domain and hosting, as talked about above!
Just do your research and make sure the domain isn’t too similar to someone else’s blog or business, and make sure you like it of course! I also used Siteground for purchasing my domain!
Canva –
If you haven’t heard of Canva by now, then I have to ask, are you living under a rock. I am totally kidding. But no really, are you? Canva is by far the easiest platform for creating graphics! I love it! They have thousands of options for pictures, templates, elements, backgrounds, etc. Canva has a free option, but if you want more choices free and some upgraded features, you will have to pay! It’s completely worth it, and will NOT break your bank! I literally would not be able to run my business without it.
Pinterest is like the gold mine for bloggers and business owners. My blog wouldn’t get even a third of the traffic it gets if it wasn’t for Pinterest. However, in order to use Pinterest, you need to know the ropes of Pinterest. I always tell my clients that Pinterest is like a game, all the entrepreneurs are playing, and if you don’t play your cards right it’s just for fun.
This is where Pinterest with Ell comes in. This is a course that guides you through the ins and outs of Pinterest. It’s not an eBook. It’s a course that literally takes you step by step to set up your Pinterest account and how to use Pinterest strategies that will get you the blog traffic you dream of. Ell also has it on sale for $10 on Black Friday.
If you want to succeed on Pinterest I highly recommend this course! Buy Ell’s course HERE
Last but certainly not least, SEO. Search Engine Optimization. Like I had mentioned above, Pinterest is a gold mine, but it’s not the only search engine out there. If you want to get noticed on Google and gain more organic traffic, I highly recommend Debbie’s On-Page SEO Ebook. Debbie is straight to the point and breaks down SEO so that beginners can understand what to do. You can check out her course HERE
Wrapping Up:
- Invest in products or companies that will make your life easier or that will make your company or blog better.
- Don’t forget to do your research, as I mentioned above, I wholeheartedly believe that all of these companies believe in creators and want to see them succeed, but that doesn’t mean they are the best match for you!
- Give them a try!
XOXO,
Lindsay
