My dear friends, I am so excited to share this post with you today. Who knew I would be so excited over water? If you KNEW me, and I mean like really knew me, you know water is my least favorite drink. I would literally drink anything over water, ok maybe not anything, but you get the point.

Drinking 100 oz of water a day did not come easy for me. It took a lot of work to get here. And I mean a lot. So if you are at that point in your life where you just feel like giving up, please read this! I promise there is hope! 🙂

How to drink 100 oz of water every day

I want to start off by saying that 100 oz of water sounds overwhelming. Especially if you don’t drink that much in a day. My personal goal every day is 100 oz, however, if your’s is 75 oz, that’s perfect!

Just because it seems like everyone’s goal is 100 oz, doesn’t mean your goal has to be. I personally chose 100 because I knew it would be good for me and I wanted to challenge myself.

Some might say just drink it, its that simple. Well, friend, that’s not the case for everyone!

Here are my tips to help you drink 100 oz of water every day or whatever your goal maybe!

  1. Start small – If your goal is 60 oz a day, start off with half, and then gradually work your way up, maybe by 10 oz a day. If you immediately start off with the ultimate goal, you may not reach it and you could disappoint yourself. Keep in mind that goals have steps and take time, they aren’t meant to be reached in a short period of time.

  2. Invest in a good water bottle…or bottles – Look here is the thing, I LOVE reusable water bottles, so much that I have a mini collection. I don’t think I ever could have enough. I have never spent more than $20 on a good water bottle. So when I say invest, I don’t mean you have to go spend $100. In fact, the best water bottle I have ever had is by a brand named Tal. It is exceptional. It keeps my water cold all day long like it says it will. It is hard to find a bottle that actually keeps your water cold for long. (I recommend buying this bottle at Walmart, they sell multiple sizes for $15 bucks which is a heck of a deal. Amazon sells them too but they are more expensive (just FYI)

  3. Buy multiple sizes of water bottles – This keeps things fun for me. I have a 60 oz bottle, I have an 8 oz bottle, and a 20 oz bottle. This keeps me challenging myself and allows me to drink more or less in a certain period of time.

  4. Set a reminder- I have my alarm on my phone set every hour to remind myself to have a drink of water. Yes, I know, this may seem pathetic. It’s not. If you set an alarm, I am proud of you, this is taking responsibilty of your water habits and gaining control over when you drink it. It’s totally ok to have a reminder.

  5. Drink 8 oz of water immediately after you wake up – get your juices flowing and jump start your day! Bam 8 oz gone. See how easy that was?

  6. Do some physical activities – Nothing makes your body crave water more than a workout or heat. This will make it easier to gulp it down.

  7. Drink something else – If you don’t like water very much, treat yourself. One time a day, have a drink of something you love, just try not to drink all your calories.

  8. Temperature is everything – Keep your water at a temperature that you will drink. Plain and simple.

  9. Last but not least – Add some flavor to your water. Such as lemon, ya know. Infuse it. I haven’t personally found my favorite combo, but I know others love it. So why not give it a try?

Re-Cap:

Friends, it’s ok if you aren’t at your goal yet! It takes time to drink a large amount of water every day. Don’t beat yourself up, you’re doing a great job! Get an awesome water bottle, add a little flavor if you would like, and just have fun with it!

You will be there in no time!
